Based in Newport Beach, California, Cutting Edge Products (“CEP”) was founded in September 2015 to develop and commercialize unique e-rideable technology. The company is committed to quality and performance, building its products from premium materials designed to last. The mobility solutions offered by CEP are designed to meet the demands of today’s young, highly mobile consumers. We don’t compete with the cheap Chinese knock off boards available in the market today as refuse to compromise our quality and core beliefs.
The Mozzie was borne out of a very simple idea: to build a Hoverboard that was both easier and more fun to ride than the hoverboards available today. The Mozzie single platform TruRideTM technology appeals to beginners making it is easier to get on and off. Equally, for the enthusiast, the range of mobility, and therefore the degree of fun, is far greater as the two sides of the board are not moving independently of one another.
Over the past two years, over 25,000 children have been treated in emergency rooms around the US as a result of falling off hoverboards. Nigel Stobart, Cutting Edge’s CEO, experienced first hand the dangerous effects of the two independent platforms on the traditional hoverboards when his daughter broke her wrist riding one on Christmas Day 2015. As she took one foot off the board the other side of the board kept moving and she fell backwards. We knew then that, if we could develop a board that maintained the flexibility and fun of the two-platform model, we would have a superior product.
Dr. Dan Edney has led the development of the Mozzie technology. He is an engineer and visionary who holds a PhD in Control Systems and 20 years experience developing novel technology products. Dan holds multiple patents including ones related to human balance in both the medical and transportation fields
Dan leads a team that includes software, aerospace, manufacturing and industrial engineers. Their sole goal has been to engineer a board from the ground up that is focused on the rider having the finest ride experience available. We have 18 patents issued around the world including a design patent issued in the US and utility and design patents pending in the US and around the world.
Today we are proud to bring our product, the Mozzie, to market and allow everyone to experience what we believe will be the next generation of hoverboard and e-rideable technology.
